In 1956 and 1957, he received the Grand Prix at the Milan Triennale and many other prestigious international design awards. He was honored with Finland's highest award, the Order of the Lion of Finland. He served as a professor and honorary professor at the Royal College of Art in London and the University of Art and Design in Helsinki.
1968. Iittala. Height 15 cm. Very good vintage condition. About to all vases from this series have production features as chips on the outer edge of the rim, resembling tiny nicks. These chips likely formed during the manual finishing process. Our vase has only one such a chip, almost invisible to the eye
