Large Finnish decorative ceramic plate featuring Albert Edelfelt’s Tanssiva Gitana, painted in 1881 and often known in English as Dancing Gypsy. The image captures the expressive movement and warm colouring of Edelfelt’s original painting, with the dancer framed closely across the entire surface of the plate.
Produced in 1983 by Finnish art ceramic studio Kermansavi, the plate brings one of Edelfelt’s less formal subjects into a decorative ceramic format.
A hanging wire is fitted to the reverse, allowing the plate to be displayed directly on the wall.
