Serving pair from the Avanti series, designed by Hans Nyqvist for Riihimäen Lasi, Finland, in the 1980s.
Made in translucent blue glass, the set combines clear geometric decoration with unusually soft, gently shaped rims. Lines, arcs, small raised dots and angular forms are arranged freely across the glass.

The contrast between the structured geometric pattern and the flowing outline of the glass gives Avanti a distinctive 1980s character.
The smaller bowl can be used for desserts, fruit, sweets or side dishes, while the large platter works well for serving pastries, fruit or other dishes. Both pieces also display well as Finnish vintage glass.
