Striking Finnish art glass vase by ArtGlass Team, made in Humppila between 1987 and 2005.
The vase has a tall rectangular architectural form with a broad stepped base and a relief pattern of raised vertical elements across one face. Its heavy proportions and geometric structure give it a strong Brutalist character.
The iridised glass shifts noticeably with the light. The main colour is a rich smoky amber with bronze and honey tones, while the surface develops blue, green and violet reflections at different angles. The textured sides intensify the metallic effect and give the glass considerable visual depth.
The original ArtGlass Team label is still present and marked “Hand Made in Finland.”
