Circular brooch by Kalevala Koru, based on a traditional jewellery form documented in Äänekoski, Finland. This interpretation entered the Kalevala Koru collection during the 1960s.
The design is deliberately simple: a broad, smoothly curved bronze circle with an open centre and a substantial pin crossing the opening. The softly rounded surface gives the brooch a strong presence while keeping the form restrained and distinctly Nordic.
