Iittala Kaveri 2 serving bowls | Jorma Vennola

Pair of Iittala Kaveri serving bowls, model 2001, designed by Jorma Vennola and made in Finland between 1980 and 1987. The two pieces reverse the same black and white colour scheme: one has a black glass bowl on a white base, the other a white glass bowl on a black base.

Placed together, the two bowls form a particularly effective pair, almost like mirrored versions of the same design.

Kaveri reflects the graphic side of Finnish design in the 1980s, when familiar household objects could take on bold shapes.

Model 2001 was intended as a small serving bowl. Its raised form makes it suitable for desserts, sweets, nuts and small snacks, while the unusual proportions also make it appealing simply as an object on a shelf or table.

Glass and Plastic Construction

The upper bowl is made of glass and fits into a moulded plastic pedestal.

Both pieces retain their original Iittala Made in Finland stickers.
