Substantial vintage oak dish dating from the mid-20th century. The broad, shallow form is constructed from numerous pieces of oak joined into a carefully planned geometric composition, giving the surface a distinctive rhythm of grain and changing wood tones.
The arrangement is especially visible in the centre, where the oak sections meet in a circular pattern. Around it, larger pieces create a quieter field of natural grain, while the built up rim gives the dish a solid architectural profile.
Construction
The construction makes the wood itself the decorative element: every section has a slightly different grain direction, producing a subtle mosaic across the interior and exterior.
Its 29 cm diameter gives it enough presence to work as a centrepiece on a dining table, coffee table or sideboard.
