Pair of Swedish Art Deco brass & black glass candlesticks

A stylish pair of vintage Swedish candlesticks with an Art Deco character. The design is built on contrast: dark polished glass, warm brass, square geometry and small rounded feet. 

The bases are made of faceted black glass with softly rounded corners. The polished surface reflects the brass stems and gives the pair a deeper, more formal look. The vertical brass columns are square in section, rising from stepped brass mounts and ending in simple cylindrical candle cups. Thin square plates below the candle holders add a sharp architectural detail.

The brass has developed a natural patina, with warm golden, brown and darker tones. It suits the age of the pieces and gives the metal a lived surface without losing the clean shape of the design.

Swedish Art Deco and Funkis Style

These candlesticks belong to the visual world of Swedish Art Deco and early Funkis design. The form is restrained, balanced and geometric, with no excess decoration. Very good vintage condition.

The brass has natural patina and small age related marks. The black glass bases show light traces of use, including minor surface marks visible at close range.
