Vintage Kalevala Koru silver earrings from the Pustan Tammi series, designed by goldsmith Pia Åkerblom. The series belongs to Kalevala Koru’s Pusta line, whose visual language was inspired by ancient Hungarian jewellery and merged with modernist style.
The earrings have the form of small stylised oak leaves. The shape is soft and compact, with rounded edges, carved vein lines and a raised central fold. The satin matte silver surface gives them a quiet glow.
Design and Inspiration
Pustan Tammi means Pusta Oak. The series connects Finnish jewellery making with older Central European ornament, especially forms linked with Hungarian ancient jewellery. Pia Åkerblom interpreted this inspiration in a cleaner modern style, making the earrings easy to wear.
The leaf shape is modest in size, but the design has enough depth and relief to catch light well. The darkened grooves bring out the pattern and make the oak leaf form more visible.
