Set of 5 elegant teak coasters by the well known Swedish manufacturer Karl Holmberg i Götene AB, dating from the 1960s.
Each coaster is turned from teak with a shallow recessed centre and softly rounded rim. The warm reddish brown wood shows natural variations in grain and tone, giving every piece a slightly different character. Their simple proportions and careful finish are typical of Scandinavian design of the period.
Light in weight and easy to handle, they work equally well for everyday use or as a small decorative detail on a coffee or dining table.
The original labels are preserved on the reverse and read: Karl Holmberg i Götene AB, Äkta Teak, Made in Sweden.
