Hello everyone! 

I’m Alex from Finland.

My whole life, for as long as I can remember, I’ve been collecting vintage and antique items. 

Even as a child at my grandparents’ farm, I would explore the attic of our century-old house and found clean school notebooks from the 19th century, which I later covered in drawings. I also found there a green and white glass candle holder. Now I know it was opaline glass from the 1890s. This was one of my earliest encounters with vintage glass. I discovered many other things as well. 

Then I pursued a degree in History at university. One of my favorites has always been the history of material culture.

Over 10 years ago, I started collecting vintage Scandinavian glass, as they perfectly reflect the beauty of the Nordic nature, care for people and everyday life. Their vibrant but often minimalistic design corresponds modern spaces in apartments or houses.

Molna web store is the way I can share my passion with others. Here are collected those items, that form the way of living: decor, tableware, light and jewelry. The styles that inspire me the most are midcentury modern, pop art, organic design, postmodern, art deco. The designers I adore the most are Tapio Wirkkala, Erik Höglund, Timo Sarpaneva, Kaj Frank, Göran Wärff, Tamara Aladin.

In the Blogs I wish to get our client and vintage lovers aquainted to Scandinavian designers, their iconic pieces, suprising finds, interesting stories, excibitions and museum expositions.
