Bright yellow vintage ceramic serving jug from the Duka med mej series, produced by Rörstrand in Sweden in 1955 to 1956. The series was created for sale through Åhlén & Holm stores and belongs to a particularly cheerful chapter of Swedish tableware design from the 1950s.
The warm yellow glaze ranges from golden yellow to softer creamy tones along the raised pattern and edges. A moulded diamond lattice covers the body, recalling traditional baskets woven from bast.
Duka med mej Series
The name Duka med mej translates approximately as “Set the table with me.”
This piece can be used as a creamer, small sauce jug or serving vessel and also works well as a colourful accent among vintage ceramics.
