3 Glass dessert bowls by Pekka Paunila, Finland 2005
3 Glass dessert bowls by Pekka Paunila, Finland 2005
Description
Vintage set consists of 3 handmade glass coupe bowls designed and signed by Finnish glass artist Pekka Paunila in 2005.
Each piece is individually blown and finished, resulting in subtle variations in tone, thickness and light reflection.
The forms are compact and well-balanced, with a clearly articulated bowl, a short stem and thickened foot. The proportions give the pieces a stable, grounded presence while keeping a refined silhouette typical of contemporary Nordic studio glass.
Glass and Color
The set combines opalescent and translucent glass, creating shifting color perception depending on light and angle:
-
Soft peach / blush opal glass with a milky glow
-
Deep cobalt-blue translucent glass
-
Warm apricot-orange translucent glass
The opalescent bowls diffuse light gently, while the darker blue glass provides visual depth and contrast. Together, the three colors form a coherent, visually dynamic trio.
