Aalto moss green candle holder | Iittala

Moss green glass candle holder from the Aalto Collection by Iittala, Finland. This particular colour was produced in 2007 and gives the familiar Aalto form a deep olive green tone.

The compact piece follows the flowing, irregular outline associated with Alvar Aalto and Iittala. Thick glass forms a series of soft curves around the candle, creating darker green areas at the base and edges and lighter translucent sections above.

The Aalto Collection is based on the organic forms created by Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto for Iittala. Its asymmetric outline became one of the most recognisable forms in Finnish glass design and has been adapted to different objects, sizes and colours over the decades.
