About the Piece
A sculptural handmade wooden holder by Aarikka, produced in Finland during the Mid Century period. The composition is built from four stylized trees formed with rounded pine spheres, one of the most recognizable visual ideas in classic Aarikka design.
Even as a practical object, it carries the atmosphere of a small wooden sculpture. From different angles the arrangement changes rhythm and balance, especially through the contrast between smooth flat circles and striped rounded forms created by the natural pine grain.
The warm tone of the wood gives the piece a calm presence on a table, shelf or desk. It works equally well as a napkin holder, paper holder or simply as Scandinavian wooden decor.

Design Character
This piece reflects a softer side of Scandinavian modernism. Instead of sharp geometry and industrial materials, Aarikka focused on warmth, tactility, and forms connected to forests and handmade craft traditions.
The tree like construction gives the object a playful architectural quality without losing its minimalist balance. It fits naturally into Nordic interiors, Japanese inspired spaces, wooden shelving, and quieter modern environments.
Placement Ideas
Beautiful on a dining table with linen napkins, on a desk with letters and postcards, or placed on open shelving among ceramics and glass. The pine grain becomes especially expressive in natural daylight.
Rarity
Less common model compared to standard Aarikka tabletop accessories, especially with the original base marking preserved.
