Overview

Vintage wooden bird figure and napkin holder by Aarikka Finland. A small piece of Finnish table decor with a clear Aarikka character: simple shapes, pale natural wood and one vivid blue bird placed at the top.

The piece is signed Aarikka Finland on the bottom.

Design

The holder is built from a round wooden base with slim vertical rods arranged around it. In the centre, a taller rod rises above the structure and carries a stylised blue bird.

The bird is made from rounded wooden forms, with a small head, full body and two tail feathers. The deep blue colour gives the piece a cheerful accent while the rest of the holder keeps its natural pale wood tone. The contrast is very typical of Aarikka: playful, but still clean and controlled.

It can be used as a napkin holder on a dining table, kitchen shelf or breakfast corner. It also works well as a small decorative object, especially in a Scandinavian or mid century inspired interior.

Maker

Aarikka is a Finnish design company known for wooden jewellery, home objects and small decorative pieces. Their designs often use repeated round forms, light wood and strong simple colour.

This piece belongs to that warm, handmade side of Finnish vintage design.
