Tall wooden candle holder from Aarikka Finland, made in the shape of a stylised tulip. The piece belongs to the Yön Kuningatar series, Finnish for Queen of the Night. This form appears in an Aarikka catalogue from 1994.
At 37 cm high, it looks like figurine or small sculpture.
Design and Form
The long stem rises from a flared wooden base with visible grain. The base is wide and rounded, the stem is narrow and straight, and the top opens like a stylised flower head. The leaf is set diagonally, giving movement to the whole silhouette.
Aarikka is especially known for turning wooden beads, spheres, rods and simple carved forms into objects with a clear graphic identity.
Marked: Aarikka Finland.

For Collectors and Interiors
A rare tall Aarikka piece with a strong decorative form. It can stand as a candle holder, a wooden sculpture or a focal object on a shelf, sideboard or table. The tulip shape and the Yön Kuningatar name give it a more poetic character than many smaller Aarikka items.
