Hand-blown, colorless glass wine goblet with a conical–tulip bowl on a short stem and broad circular foot. Estimated 19th century. The decoration and proportions are consistent with Swedish Casimirsborg glass.

Form & Decoration

  • Bowl: funnel-to-tulip profile that narrows towards the stem; lower bowl with shallow wheel-cut flutes rising from the stem joint.

  • Etched band: wide checkerboard frieze around the upper bowl, alternating clear and frosted squares; many frosted squares carry small wheel-engraved starbursts. Technique most likely wheel-cut engraving.

  • Stem & foot: short straight stem; flat, wide foot with tool marks and light concentric rings from finishing, evidence of hand production.

Colour & Glass

Clear, colourless lead glass with small air seeds and tool marks characteristic of early hand-blown work.

Measurements

  • Height: ~11.5 cm

Condition

Very good antique condition: light wear and surface marks from age and use.

Attribution & Period

  • Style: Casimirsborg (Sweden) style, 19th century

Use

Sized for wine, dessert wine, or liqueurs; also display well as part of a historical glass collection.
