Only one available
Rare Arabia Finland ST model pitcher with a large blue and green floral motif designed by Thure Öberg, the first artist employed by Arabia. Made in faience, the pitcher has a generous 1.5 litre capacity and an elegant tall form with a pronounced pouring lip and rectangular handle.
The decoration gives the piece much of its character. A single stylised blue flower rises above green leaves on the creamy white body, while a soft blue border follows the upper rim.
Thure Öberg for Arabia
Thure Öberg holds an important place in the history of Arabia as the factory’s first own artist. His work helped establish a distinct decorative language for Arabia ceramics, combining traditional forms with carefully simplified ornament.
The flower motif on this ST pitcher was created using a sprayed decoration technique that produces the softly graduated colour visible in the blue petals and around the rim.
Made circa 1940s-1950s.
A Decorative and Functional Arabia Piece
With its 1.5 litre capacity, it can serve as a pitcher, and its scale and uncommon decoration also make it suitable for an Arabia collection or as a vase for flowers.
