Elegant Aroma glass vase designed by Timo Sarpaneva for Iittala, dating from the 1960s to 1970s.
The vase has a generous rounded body in a delicate smoky rose tone, set on a clear glass stem and broad circular foot.
The combination of a large rounded vessel and a slender transparent stem gives the vase a distinctly sculptural character. It works beautifully with flowers, but its proportions and subtle colour also make it an appealing decorative object on its own.
Timo Sarpaneva and Iittala
Timo Sarpaneva was one of the central figures of Midcentury Finnish glass design and worked extensively with Iittala. His glass objects often explored the relationship between simple forms, colour, transparency and the optical qualities of the material.
