A striking bronze necklace by Kalevala Koru, Finland, produced for a short period in the 1990s. The design takes inspiration from a medieval prototype found in Kaukolan Kekomäki, yet the result is distinctly modern, a refined reinterpretation of historical motifs through the lens of 20th-century Finnish design.
Design & Craftsmanship
The necklace features a rhythmic arrangement of nine bronze pendants, each decorated on both sides with interlacing ribbon motifs reminiscent of ancient Nordic metalwork. Despite its historical roots, the composition and proportions express a clean, contemporary aesthetic, characteristic of Kalevala Koru’s mid- to late-century design approach.
