Heavy art glass brutalist figurine and candle holder from the Kivi Set (Stone-set) series, designed by Pertti Santalahti for Humppila Glassworks, Finland. Produced in the 1980s.

The piece combines a sculptural stack of textured clear glass spheres with an amber brown circular base. Weighing approx. 1.4 kg, it has a strong presence both as a functional candle holder and as a decorative glass object.

In the second half of the 20th century, Nordic artists developed a distinctive style of glass design, inspired by nature’s patterns: ice, plants, stone and water.

Pertti Santalahti – Finnish glass artist, whose designs for Humppila are represented in museum collections, including the Finnish Glass Museum.
