Compact Danish glass serving bowl in an exceptionally rich blue, attributed to Per Lütken and Holmegaard, circa 1955.
The colour is a deep saturated cobalt blue with a distinct sapphire tone. In stronger light the thinner areas become luminous and almost electric blue, the thick base and rounded sides remain considerably darker.
Design
The low, broad form is built around a heavy rounded body that narrows into a substantial central base. Seen from above, the smooth interior draws the colour toward the centre, where the thick glass creates concentric shadows and intense blue reflections.
The design is attributed to renowned Danish glass artist Per Lütken for Holmegaard and dated to 1955. As the attribution has not been independently confirmed, it is presented here as presumed.
Its proportions make the bowl suitable for serving small snacks, sweets or nuts.
