This piece is not only a functional object but also a historical artifact, it's a testament to the craftsmanship and material integrity of early Soviet manufacturing under the Tremass Trust. Its rarity and well-preserved markings make it a collectible item of real historical value.

Why buy Early Soviet Vintage Tremass?

In the early 1920s, amidst the tumultuous post-revolutionary period, the Soviet government sought to consolidate and streamline its industrial assets. On December 30, 1921, by order of the North-Western Regional Bureau of Industry, the State Regional Trust of Leningrad Mass Production Plants, known as "Tremass," was established in Petrograd (now St. Petersburg).

This conglomerate unified several pre-revolutionary enterprises, including the renowned "Eduard" factory, the "Vulkan" plant, and the "Krasny Gvozdilshchik" (Red Nail Maker). These factories were nationalized and integrated into Tremass to bolster mass production capabilities in the nascent Soviet economy.

The "Eduard" factory, originally founded in 1899 by merchant Eduard Dietwald, had a distinguished reputation for crafting high-quality gold and silver items, including orders and academic insignia. Under Tremass, it was rebranded as the "Artistic Stamping Plant named after Comrade Romensky."

This facility continued to produce exquisite items such as tableware, podstakanniki (glass holders), and decorative badges, maintaining a standard of craftsmanship that rendered these items both rare and highly valued by collectors and historians alike.
