Handcrafted wooden sailboat model made in Finland in 1978. The piece features a pine hull with a mast and fabric sail, marked with Vaasa city insignia. Signed and dated by the maker.
Description
This sculptural boat model is carved from solid pine and assembled by hand. The hull has a flowing, elongated form with a stable base, designed for tabletop or shelf display. The sail is made of natural fabric and printed with RT 40 and Vaasa, Suomi / Finland, referencing the coastal city of Vaasa. The mast and sail can be removed, allowing flexible presentation and safe storage.
The underside of the hull is marked E.S. – 78, indicating the maker’s initials and year of production. Craftsmanship reflects Nordic design values of the late 1970s: clarity of form, natural materials and restrained detailing.
