Rare carved wooden sculpture depicting Gaston Lagaffe with his cat. The figure is painted in deep green, dark blue and black, with bright blue shoes, while the cat has a black and cream body and a vivid red nose. The wood is likely teak.
The carving has a strong graphic character, with exaggerated proportions and carefully worked details in the hair, clothing, face and cat. Gaston Lagaffe is the comic book character created by André Franquin in Belgium in 1957.
