Vintage Löytö (Finnish for Discovery) series vase comes in a soft lilac hue and is part of a series originally designed in the 1950s, which included a dozen distinct items.
Height is 15.7 cm. There is single notch on the foot. Otherwise, condition is consistent with the age of the piece.
While these series are often associated with Tapio Wirkkala’s name, some accounts suggest that most of the actual design work may have been carried out by Erkki Vesanto and Saara Sappinen, based on ideas attributed to Wirkkala.
