Kaj Franck Nuutajarvi, KF295 Vase violet blue
Vintage vase, model KF295, was designed by Kaj Franck in the 1960s for Nuutajärvi Glassworks. Made of thick, heavy glass, it features a deep violet blue core encased in clear crystal, with clean vertical sides and a slightly oval top opening. The contrast between the color and the clear glass gives it strong visual weight without ornament.
Height is 19 cm. Excellent vintage condition, only very slight traces of use.
A bold mid-century piece, it works well as a sculptural object or flower vase in interiors with minimal, vintage, or industrial elements.
Why buy Kaj Franck's design pieces?
He was a revolutionary in Art glass and tableware design.
In the early 1950s, Franck refused lush decorating of the items in favor of clean lines, shapes, interesting colors and textures, thus, becoming one of the founders of mid-20th century modernist design in the Nordics.
