Hand-carved teak bowl by Finnish craftsman Eino Mattila, one of Finland’s noted woodworkers active during the 1950s–1960s. Quite rare find.
Mattila is known for his mastery of Scandinavian modernist form and his work for Riihimäki Glassworks, where he created wooden molds for glass designers such as Nanny Still.
This piece reflects his refined sense of proportion and respect for natural materials. The bowl is turned from solid teak with a beautiful grain pattern and a warm, rich tone.
Signed Eino Mattila on the back and fitted with a small wall hook, allowing for display as both a functional and decorative object.
