Object
Statement modernist pendant with articulated drops and long chain. Scandinavia, likely Norway, 1960s to 1970s

Material
Pewter with a darkened patina
Metal chain

Design
The composition is built around a compact central plate with layered abstract forms. The upper section has a mask like structure, with pierced openings and small relief details that catch light unevenly. The geometry is not strictly symmetrical, which gives the piece a slightly raw, hand shaped presence typical for the period.

Below, three articulated elements are suspended, each ending in short chain tassels. These parts move freely and respond to body movement, adding a quiet metallic rhythm and visual depth. The contrast between solid forms and openwork areas creates a shifting play of light.

The language of the piece aligns with Scandinavian modernist jewelry from the late 1960s and 1970s, where sculptural expression and material texture were more important than polish or ornament.
