Overveiw
Art glass vase & bottle from the Grapponia series, designed by Nanny Still for Riihimäen Lasi. Produced in Finland between 1971 and 1975.
Design & Series
The Grapponia series takes its name and visual language from grappolo - a grape cluster. The surface is built from repeated circular reliefs and dense bead like textures, forming a stylised interpretation of grapes and vines.
The square body with rounded corners and a short cylindrical neck reflects Scandinavian design of the early 1970s, combining sculptural mass with tactile ornament.
