Glass creamer designed by Tapio Wirkkala for Iittala, Finland, and produced from 1956 to 1974. Its compact rounded body, generous loop handle and precisely drawn pouring lip give the piece a balanced silhouette.
The colour is especially attractive: a smoky petrol blue with cool grey and teal undertones.
Finnish Modernist Glass
Wirkkala worked extensively with the optical qualities of coloured glass, allowing simple forms to change character with light and viewing angle.
With a capacity of approximately 2 dl, it can be used as a creamer or small serving pitcher, while its sculptural proportions also make it an appealing piece of Finnish vintage glass on display.
