Turquoise glass pot by Riihimäen Lasi, made in Finland during the second half of the 20th century. Originally designed as a container for butter, it can now also be used as a small bowl, container or decorative glass piece.
The colour sits between turquoise and deep teal.
Finnish Glass by Riihimäen Lasi
Riihimäen Lasi produced an enormous range of domestic and decorative glass during the 20th century, including objects made for everyday Finnish kitchens. This butter pot is an interesting example of that functional side of the factory.
The rounded body is balanced by a broad upper rim and two small glass handles.
