Overview
Vintage amber glass vase from the Sirkka series, designed by Tamara Aladin for Riihimäen Lasi in 1976.
The amber glass gives it a warm golden tone, somewhere between honey, caramel and late afternoon light.
It is compact, sculptural and very easy to place in an interior. Even without flowers, the shape works as a decorative glass object.
Design
Sirkka is a good example of Tamara Aladin’s confident approach to form. The vase has clear Pop Art energy: bright color, simple outlines and a playful profile that feels immediately recognisable.
The base is rounded and heavy in appearance, while the upper part rises with a soft inward curve before opening outward at the rim. This gives the vase a lively vertical rhythm and makes the amber glass especially expressive in natural light.
Why Pop Art Glass
Scandinavian Pop Art glass from the 1960s and 1970s remains one of the most visually vivid parts of Nordic vintage design. Strong colours, clean lines and original forms make these pieces easy to use in modern interiors.
A vase like this is not only a vessel for flowers. It brings colour, light and period character into a room as an object in its own right.

Its size makes it practical for a small bouquet, a single branch or display as a standalone decorative vase.
