Tapio Wirkkala Iittala, Set of 4 Seven Suns Beer & Wine Glasses
Tapio Wirkkala Iittala, Set of 4 Seven Suns Beer & Wine Glasses
Set of 4 vintage glasses from the short-run “Seitsemän aurinkoa” (Finnish for Seven Suns) series designed by Tapio Wirkkala for Iittala. Produced between 1968 and 1973. Capacity approx. 0.33 L.
Design
The bowl has a rounded, balanced silhouette with a wide opening (7.2 cm), tapering smoothly toward the stem. The stem is characteristic for this model: not thin, but compact and firmly shaped, widening gently into a foot with a slightly raised, sculpted edge. This detail gives the glass stability and a distinctive profile when viewed from the side.

Condition
Good vintage condition.
A couple of glasses show few tiny superficial edge irregularities on the rim. They are not visible without close inspection and may stem from the production process rather than wear, as their scale and appearance differ from typical usage marks. Surfaces remain clear and well-preserved.
Production & Rarity
Made by Iittala during a limited production period (1968–1973). Pieces from this series appear infrequently on the market, making complete sets especially desirable.
