Oiva Toikka is a Scandinavian design legend. For many years he worked for the Nuutajärvi glassworks. Toikka became famous for his series of art glass with the flora and fauna of Suomi.
He equally successful worked with both laconic and decorative forms. His items are often unusual and impulsive.
Oiva Toikka has worked as a designer for over 50 years. During this time, he received worldwide recognition: Finland's highest award in the field of culture, Pro Finlandia, similar, the Swedish Prince Eugene medal; became a professor of Arts in his country and in Sweden.
