Rare modernist crystal vase from iconic Tan-si series by designer Nils Landberg. Number 3300/5, hand made. This item is signed and labeled by the manufacturer.
Made in sophisticated sfumato technique allowing tones and colors to shade gradually into one another, producing softened outlines. Made of beautiful burgundy and red tones.
Tan-si series is represented in Smålands museum in Sweden.
Nils Landberg worked at the flagship art glass and crystal factory Orrefors. He represented Sweden at the World Expos in Paris in 1937 and New York in 1939.
In 1957, he won the gold medal at the Milan Triennial, which was the most prestigious award for a European designer at the time. His pieces can be found in museums in Sweden, the United States, and Germany.
