The design echoes early medieval jewelry, with its solid forms and moving elements, but merges seamlessly with contemporary jewelry art.
The surface shows a warm bronze tone with natural patina.
Historical Background
The ornament evokes a motif from an early Viking Age chain set discovered in Kernaala, Janakkala. The imagery depicts two long-necked birds, interpreted as peacocks, guarding the vessels of the water of life - an early Christian symbol of paradise.
