Collection: Brand: Nuutajärvi

Nuutajärvi glass factory is one of Finland’s oldest glassworks, founded in 1793. In the second half of the 20th century, during the period often described as the golden era of Finnish design, Nuutajärvi became known for a wide range of art glass and tableware that gained strong domestic and international recognition.

The factory collaborated with leading Finnish designers. Among them were Kaj Franck, Oiva Toikka, Saara Hopea, and Heikki Orvola. Their work at Nuutajärvi ranged from practical tableware lines to expressive art glass objects. Use of colour layering, controlled air bubbles, engraved surfaces and experimental forming techniques allowed the factory to produce visually distinctive pieces. Many of these designs became widely recognised within Nordic modern design.
