Collection: Brand: Iittala

Iittala is regarded as one of Finland’s most important glass manufacturers, with a long standing reputation in both art glass and functional design.

Among the most prominent designers associated with the company were Tapio Wirkkala and Timo Sarpaneva. Both played a central role in shaping Nordic modern design during the mid twentieth century. Their work for Iittala received international recognition, including multiple Grand Prix awards at the Milan Triennale between the 1950s and 1970s, one of the most respected design exhibitions in Europe at the time.

Wirkkala and Sarpaneva became closely identified with modernist and organic design principles. Their glass objects combined technical innovation with sculptural form, reinforcing Iittala’s status as a leader in contemporary design.

Beyond these widely recognised names, Iittala collaborated with a number of highly skilled modernist designers whose work contributed to the company’s cohesive and internationally respected design language.
